Transfers are tomorrow, and I will be staying and training. This past week has been good, we went to two baptisms on Saturday. The first one was Karin and Javier, and they are fantastic people. And they just moved in to my ward. Then the second one was the quickest baptism/wedding I’ve been to, it was only 40 minutes to do both. Both of the Parkers ended up in the hospital this past week but they are doing good now. We also learned that a friend of the Gobsons are interested in learning more, so it’s been good.
Our theology does teach us, though, that we may be perfected by repeatedly and iteratively “relying wholly upon” the doctrine of Christ: exercising faith in Him, repenting, partaking of the sacrament to renew the covenants and blessings of baptism, and receiving the Holy Ghost as a constant companion to a greater degree. As we do so, we become more like Christ and are able to endure to the end, with all that it entails. In less formal terms, God cares a lot more about who we are and who we are becoming than about who we once were. He cares that we keep on trying. (Latter-day Saints Keep on Trying)
