Why cant people answer the door?

Last Monday was P-day and the ZL’s came over to do their laundry, so we didn’t get much done. Both of our appointments fell through, and we had no dinner. But the Bagley’s had us over last minute for dinner and basically had FHE with them. Tuesday it snowed, but did not stick to the ground. It came down heavy in a storm, and got really hard to see. Today we had a lesson with a new investigator out on her front porch. When we got done my face felt half frozen from the wind. The rest of our appointments fell through, but sister Kelly fed us last minute, but I’m sad she is planning on moving to Arizona. Today was also had transfer day and because we had a car we helped some of the Elders get all of their stuff down to the stake center and wait for the transfer van in the cold wind.

Wednesday we had District meeting, and got to meet the new missionary’s in our district. After that we tried to visit some people but they were not home, and same with the our new investigator Joey. Had dinner with the Mickelson, and that’s always an adventure. They are a crazy family but we always end up doing service with them, and they are lots of fun. Went to our ward halloween party, and a lot of less active people showed up which is great. Plus lots of pie and really good costumes. Thursday we tried to visit Joey again, but he was not home – bummer. We also had DLC today, so spent a hour with Elder Parkinson new Greene, Elder S. He is from Oregon. Kind of freaked out when we told him it snowed on Tuesday, plus he is on a bike. Also today was not a very productive day, most of our appointments fell through. Nobody was home when we stopped by, all in all today was not a very good day.

Friday we tried seeing Joey again, but this time in the evening but no one answered the door. Went out with Brother Davidson, went and saw the Sages and going back sometime next week. Had a really good lesson with the Olavason, the kids seem very receptive and wanted to know more about the gospel. Went to grandmas house today because tomorrow is Halloween. Plus the Sisters got hit today, they are fine, and the car is not to bad. But because of that the ZL’s had to bring up another car with them for the Sisters, because they had a meeting in winder. So the ZL’s had to drive separate cars, so they had the rarity of being alone of a hour and a half.

Saturday we spent most of the morning and part of the afternoon helping the Elmores pack their trailer, so they could leave tomorrow for Kansas. Went to the trunk or treat to see some of the less active people in our ward. After that we had dinner with the Mickelson and they had to pick us up because we could not drive after 6 and be home at 7 at the latest. Spent the evening bored out of our minds, had some candy for some trick-or-treaters but no one ever came by. But the Mickelson did break their record this year and had 4 trick-or-treaters. Our ward area is a little sketchy, especially since there is very few real roads.

Sunday was a good day. Sister Olavason bore her testimony about how much we have helped her in her life by teaching her kids. And this means so much to me by seeing how much the gospel can help people, and make a difference in their lives. Met with Ashley Rayos who is less active and we are going to re-teach her all the lessons because she can’t always make it to church because of job.

4 Now Lamoni said unto Ammon: I know, in the strength of the Lord thou canst do all things. But behold, I will go with thee to the land of Middoni; for the king of the land of Middoni, whose name is Antiomno, is a friend unto me; therefore I go to the land of Middoni, that I may flatter the king of the land, and he will cast thy brethren out of prison. Now Lamoni said unto him: Who told thee that thy brethren werein prison?

5 And Ammon said unto him: No one hath told me, save it be God; and he said unto me–Go and deliver thy brethren, for they are in prison in the land of Middoni.

6 Now when Lamoni had heard this he caused that his servants should make ready his horses and his chariots.

I like this scripture because King Lamoni acted and did not question Ammon, and showed such great faith. We can show our faith today by acting on the council we get from our Prophet today.
